Happy International Women’s Day — March 8
Today we honor the courage, leadership, and resilience of women around the world who continue to defend human dignity and human rights.
“On International Women’s Day, we honor the fearless women whose courage continues to challenge tyranny and inspire the world.”
The International Centre for Human Rights – Canada (ICHR) stands in solidarity with the women of Iran, as theyface systematic repression, imprisonment, and violence for demanding their fundamental rights.
Since the nationwide protests/Revolution against the terrorist regime began in 2026, more than 45K protesters have been killed, including tens of thousands of women and children, and over 500,000 have been arrested.
Human rights organizations have documented sexual violence, torture, and abuse against women in detention, while thousands remain imprisoned for peaceful protest.
Yet Iranian women continue to rise fearless, resilient, and unbroken.They are not victims. They are leaders of one of the most powerful human rights movements of our time.
The world must keep in mind. These numbers are increasing at the behest of the regime, not the defence on behalf of the people of Iran by USA and Israel.
We call on the Islamic Republic, a regime that continues to attack, violate, imprison, and kill women to immediately end these crimes, and free Iran by accepting people’s choice.
On March 8, and every day we stand with them.
