The International Centre for Human Rights – ICHR and B’nai Brith Canada will hold a joint rally on Parliament Hill on Sunday, June 11th at 1:30 pm to urge the government to list Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC), as a terrorist entity in Canada.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), also called Sepah, are a multi-service military and security organization officially established by Ruhollah Khomeini in May 1979, in the aftermath of their Islamic Revolution. In order to ensure the integrity of the Islamic Republic and protect their revolution.

“Canada must designate IRGC as a terrorist entity, since they fall under the criteria of Canada’s Criminal Code of Anti Terrorism Act and IPRA. The IRGC uses violence intentionally, and creates a state of fear to achieve it’s ideological and political aims.” said Ardeshir Zarezadeh, executive director of ICHR.

The IRGC is designated a terrorist organization by Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. However, Canada has only designated its foreign operation branch, Quds Force.

The rally on Parliament Hill on June 11th will address the importance and urgency of listing IRGC, and why Canada benefits from the designation of it as a terrorist organization.

A round table discussion on Monday, June 12th, on Parliament Hill, will follow the rally.
