Country: Iran

ICHR strongly condemn the government of Iran for imprisoning human-rights activists who have fought tirelessly for people’s rights. We demand their immediate and unconditional release.

Yasaman Ariani & her mother Monira Arabshahi are activists whom wanted to change the ⁦forced hijab⁩ laws & for practicing their ⁦right⁩ to campaign against it, they’re imprisoned and have been threatened, mentally tortured, persecuted, and medically neglected.

“The government of Iran must answer for all the outrageous execution rates, unlawful persecution of human rights defenders, the crackdown discrimination against women, and minorities, as well as the ongoing crimes against humanity,” Said; Ardeshire Zarezadeh, Executive Director for ICHR Canada.

Babak Paknia, Yasaman Ariani and Monira Arabshahi’s lawyer, said on his Twitter page about their latest situation;

“After numerous requests, the authorities of Karaj prison have informed my clients, Ms. Monira Arabshahi and Yasaman Ariani, to provide bail for the use of sick leave;  We hope they will live up to their promise. I remind you that yasman is infected with the corona virus and her mother is very likely to be infected as well.”

“Putting persecuting political prisoners and not taking care of their physical and medical  conditions specially during the coronavirus pandemic in prisons is a illuminating example of torture and crimes committed by the Islamic Republic against political prisoners for forty-one years.” Added; Ardeshire Zarezadeh, Executive Director for ICHR Canada.

ICHR strongly calls on the government of Iran to stop all the arrests, prosecutions, torture & ill-treatments of all political, Conscience, human rights defenders, lawyers, and labour rights activists prisoners. We demand their immediate and unconditional release.

ICHR also strongly calls on Iran to stop violating the rights of the people, and to start abiding by the UN laws and laws of human rights. The government must be held accountable for all their crimes and oppression against people and human_rights.
