ICHR Strongly Condemns the government of Iran for executing protesters, and we Demand to revoke the death sentence for Ruhollah Zam, AmirHossein Moradi, Said Tamjidi, Muhammad Rajabi, and other political prisoners under death row, and to release them immediately and unconditionally.
Ruhollah Zam is another victim of Iran’s systemic Human Rights Violation, Rohollah is a journalist and media activist whom is best known for operating a Telegram channel named ‘Amadnews’, that played a high-profile role in the 2017–18 Iranian protests, is sentenced to death because he practiced his right to speech and expression.
Exercising his right to freedom of thought & freedom of expression doesn’t make him a criminal. Injustice cannot go unanswered.
The details of his arrest still remain unclear. Though he was based in Paris, Zam somehow returned to Iran and was detained by intelligence officials. A series of a televised confessions, which was result of torturing him are being aired in recent months over his work.
On June 30th, 2020 the Branch 15 of Revolutionary Court of Tehran, sentenced Ruhollah Zam, a journalist and managing editor of Amad News website and its Telegram channel to death on 13 charges.
Judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili announced Zam’s death sentence on Tuesday, saying he had been convicted of “corruption on Earth,” a charge often used in cases involving activists protesting against Iran’s government’s inhuman policies.

Over 40 years the Islamic Republic Government has continuously executed widespread systematic discrimination, relentless violence, Political Repression against people of Iran, specially the activists and protesters and they are left exposed to unlawful prosecution, outrageous inhuman treatments and death sentences.
