Country: Iran
ICHR strongly condemns government of Iran for their outrageous crimes against humanity. Harassing, and imprisoning civilians for practicing their rights to freedom of expression is a crime against their rights. Government of Iran must release Golrokh Iraee immediately and unconditionally as well as dropping all the charges against her from her previous arrest and recent arrest.
Practicing freedom of expression is not a crime, Golrokh was simply asking for medical care for her imprisoned husband, Arash Sadeghi. That’s not a crime.
Golrokh Iraee Ebrahimi, author and human rights activists was imprisoned in Iran on the basis of an unpublished story she had written about the inhumane practice of stoning. After serving 3yrs in Evin Prison she was released with bail conditions on April, 8th, 2019. But she faces more years behind bars if convicted of a pending charges against her.

She recently launched a campaign on social media, to free and her imprisoned husband Arash Sadeghi, and also to get him the medical care that he desperately needs. Which drew the attention of the Iranian dictatorial government and led to her arrest.
ICHR strongly Calls on the government of Iran to release Golrokh Iraee immediately and unconditionally as well as to drop all the charges against her from her previous arrest and recent arrest.
