ICHR strongly opposes the violation of the students rights to privacy, freedom of speech and expression, and calls on Iran’s government to stop persecution of the students, and halt all disciplinary actions that denies them of their human rights.
Students Affairs organization in Iran has issued a disciplinary action for students cyberspace violations, and henceforth these violations will be addressed.
Now let’s see what falls on under social media violations for the students of Iran; videos, pictures, clips, tweets, and posts that don’t fall under the discriminatory, degrading, and unjust laws of the state, and Islamic laws. Which can lead to their suspension from school, and more.
HRW repoted that few students have already been suspended of one semester of their schoo (Univ). Due to their photos and their family party videos that was posted on their social media.
The students are opposing this outrageous violation of their rights and demanding for these imposed disciplinary actions to be abolished immediately.
Interfering in private life’s of the students and threatening them to disciplinary action for their freedom of speech and expression, is yet another human rights violations by the government of Iran.
Basically since you are an student the university or your school has a right to check your social media and if they find pictures or clips that is not to their liking, the student will face disciplinary action.
